New Foster Bird!
Written by Andrew Shears

We recently hooked up with Parrot Hope Sanctuary, which is the only parrot rescue group that we've come across in NE Ohio.  After meeting and talking to a lot of good people who do a lot of good work with birds, we decided to take on a foster bird.  Her name is Sky (a name I really don't like at all) and she is an Orange Winged Amazon.  She's about 30 years old and is very shy, and she's going to take a lot of work to make sociable.  She is very scared of human hands right now, but she really wants to be with people, and she's already settling in nicely.

We happened to take advantage of a weekend of spring break that overlapped with Andy's parents, and all went to Washington DC together.  It was a lot of fun, and we really miss traveling more with them like we used to.

Meet Sophie and Gertrude

We rescued our two latest foster dogs from Mt. Gilead Animal Shelter.  They were literally an hour from being put down when Amy and Christine walked in to get them.  Sophie is a greyhound/great dane mix, while Gertrude is a pure-bred boxer (though probably poorly bred).
